A Nice Weekend in Geneva

Convenient for train station, although last trains on Friday were 9.19 pm, which meant we had a take a taxi for 34 Swiss francs plus tip. Friendly check in. Did not provide travel pass. And free travel ticket at arrivals from airport were no longer being issued. Fairly spacious room, good storage. Kettle, China cups and saucers, and tiny spoons. Shower screen is set into bath so awkward to get to shower head or turn on taps for bath. Usual European plugs did not fit socket. But borrowed one from Reception to charge phones. No USB socket and kettle socket wasn’t working. Needed to plug kettle to boil by the bed socket or in the bathroom. Comfortable bed and pillows. Unable to turn off the heating or adjust air conditioning manually, so it was too warm and had to open window to adjust temperature. I imagine in the Summer months, this could be a problem. Breakfast is 28 Swiss francs per person for a continental breakfast buffet which included a small tray of scrambled egg, a few mushrooms and a few tiny sausages. It was not a large hot buffet and was expensive for what it was, so only chose to ate there once. If included in the price, would be a nice continental buffet of cheeses, ham, croissants, small selection of bread, a few pastries, yoghurts, some fruit, etc but not worth paying nearly £30 per person for. The hotel is about a 10 to 15 min walk down to the waterfront. There is a small shop to buy milk and supplies across the road open until late in the evening. Overall I would say a good hotel for a weekend stay, but not as good as the Hotel Bristol where we stayed on our last visit.

The hotel is not even a 5 minute walk from the main railway station and a short walk to the quayside of Lake Geneva. The breakfast is buffet style with a good range of foods and staff on hand to help if required. We had a street side room and, whilst the decor was a little tired it was very comfortable. A really good value hotel with pleasant and helpful staff near to all facilities. Would certainly return.

Basic rooms. Ok but not great for the price RIGHT on top of the railway lines and it is LOUD. DONT stay here as you won’t get a good nights sleep unless you are used to a lot of noise. Staff pretty rude and unsympathetic when I called down to complain and see if they had a room on the other side of the hotel. Defo not 4* standard or service

My son and i stayed here for the Geneva marathon. Our flight got in early but the reception staff were very happy to store our luggage until check-in time. Hotel is very well placed, trams go pass, the train station (8 mins to the airport) is a 5 minute walk and 10 mins to the lake. We had a room at the back, yes the train line!, however we discovered that closing the substantial curtains reduced the unseasonal heat, and closing the window meant a good nights sleep. The double glazing is substantial! Best pillows and mattress ever, followed by a really good and varied breakfast (including hot rice for the runners). All of the staff were very helpful and cheerful. A delightful, convenient hotel and highly recommended. You will get a Geneva Travel Pass too!

It is a really bad experience. The following points were highlighted during the stay: 1- The air condition cooling system didn’t work. Called the reception to fix it and they accused me for leaving the window open (even though it wasn’t open). Then they informed me to keep the AC ON for 20 minutes then the cooling system will switch on. Subsequently, the cooling system didn’t work after 20 minutes. We called the reception and they said it is too late to fix it now and we slept without air condition, instead they advised us to keep the window open which is near the train path, too noisy, we couldn’t do. 2- we booked 2 twin bedroom and a queen bedroom. We arrived at the hotel and we were shocked that both of the rooms were 2 twin bedrooms. The hotel put 2 twin beds together with separate sheets, mattresses and blankets. During the night the two beds moved apart causing a huge gap and one of the residents almost to fall on the floor. 3- The rooms is called a family room which supposed to have a kitchen, but they locked it claiming it should be extra charge for the kitchen!! Extra charge should be for real benefits, but It looks like business is way much important than customer to lock something already exists in the room just for the sake of forcing the customer to pay more!! Overall, not recommended hotel to stay in Geneva
